The Answer Brewpub

Blue Bee Cider

Blue Bee Cider was founded in 2012 by two friends, Courtney Mailey and Emily Chiles, who shared a passion for cider and a desire to create something special using Virginia apples. The cidery has since grown and now offers a variety of ciders, including dry, semi-dry, and sweet styles. Whether you’re looking for a refreshing summertime sipper or a cozy winter warmer, Blue Bee Cider has a cider for you. Bryant’s Cider

This cidery produces small-batch, artisanal ciders using traditional methods. The cidery was founded in 2012 by brothers-in-law Andrew Bryant and Peter Mitchell, who share a passion for cider making. Bryant’s Cider sources its apples from family-owned orchards in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. The apples are hand-picked and pressed on-site at the cidery. The resulting juice is fermented slowly and naturally, without the use of chemicals or added sugar. The result is a dry, crisp cider that is naturally gluten-free and low in calories. Bryant’s Cider is available year-round at select retailers in Virginia, Washington D.C., and Maryland.

Buskey Cider

They are a small-batch cidery specializing in dry, English-style ciders. The ciders are made from 100% Virginia apples and are always gluten-free. They believe that cider should be simple, honest, and delicious. The taproom is located in historic Scott’s Addition, just a few blocks from downtown Richmond. They have a cozy space with a large bar and plenty of seating. The tap list features The core lineup of ciders, as well as seasonal and limited-release ciders. They also have a rotating selection of local beer and wine. They’re open Wednesday-Sunday for flights, growler fills, and pints. They also have cider by the bottle to go. 

Castleburg Brewery and Taproom

The taproom features 24 taps, including a variety of Castleburg’s own brews, as well as guest beers from other local breweries. There’s also a full food menu available, so you can enjoy a meal with your beer. The taproom is open daily from 11 am to 10 pm, so there’s plenty of time to stop by and enjoy a pint or two.

Dancing Kilt Brewery

Their flagship beer is the Richmond Lager, which is a traditional German-style lager that is perfect for summertime drinking. Stone Brewing Co.

Stone Brewing Co. was founded in 1996 by Steve Wagner and Greg Koch. In addition to its flagship brewery in Richmond, Stone Brewing Co. also operates a second brewery in Escondido, California. Three Notch’d specializes in hoppy beers, and they have won multiple awards for their IPAs. They are also known for their unique collaborations with other businesses and organizations, such as their recent release of a beer with the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Triple Crossing Brewing

Triple Crossing Brewing, is located in the historic Manchester district of Richmond, Virginia. they specialize in brewing hop-forward beers that are unfiltered, unrefined, and unique. their goal is to create beers that are enjoyable to drink and explore, while also being accessible to everyone. They opened their doors in 2013 with a simple mission: make great beer and have fun doing it. They started out with a three-barrel brew system and a small taproom, and have since grown into a ten-barrel brewery with two locations in Richmond. their original location on West Main Street is where they do most of their brewing. It features a twenty-tap tasting room where you can sample all of their latest creations. they also have an outdoor patio that’s perfect for enjoying a sunny day or catching up with friends over a few pints. their second location is at Fulton Hill Studios, just north of downtown Richmond. This spot has sixteen taps featuring both Triple Crossing beers and guest breweries from around the country (and the world). In addition to great beer, Fulton Hill Studios has an art gallery, music venue, coffee shop, and more – making it the perfect place to spend an afternoon or evening exploring everything Richmond has to offer.
