Hunters Run Wine Barn

For wine aficionados looking to experience a unique tasting, Hunters Run Wine Barn offers an Irish and equestrian themed winery. Part of the renowned Loudoun County Wine Trail, Hunters Run is located just an hour from Washington, DC, making it the perfect spot for an afternoon getaway. With a whimsical, fun tasting room, Hunters Run is ideal for anyone who wants great wine in a casual, laidback environment.

An unforgettable visit starts in the beautiful, hunt-country equestrian barn and tasting room with Hunters Run wines and special Sangria. Wine can be enjoyed by the glass or by the bottle near the indoor and outdoor fireplaces, in the hayloft seating, or outside on the lawn. Guests can enjoy breathtaking mountain views as they sip their wine and enjoy the laughter and good company of friends and family.

Owner Geri Nolan was born and raised in a farming community in Ireland. After coming to the United States about 20 years ago, she quickly realized America was missing the laidback, whimsical nature she loved in Ireland, and she set to work creating a piece of Ireland in Northern Virginia. Decorating the barn with shamrocks and riding crops, Nolan brought a piece of her home to Loudoun County for everyone to enjoy and appreciate with her.

The most eclectic winery around, Hunters Run offers many enjoyable events including live music throughout August. The website has the most up-to-date schedule of events. Whether you’re hoping to soak up some music as you enjoy the sun setting over the mountains and a great glass of wine, or you want to enjoy a casual picnic with your family, Hunters Run Wine Barn offers the perfect spot to relax and catch your breath after a busy week.

Hunters Run, still a new winery, will be starting a small production of about 300 cases per year. The first wines to be produced under the label will be Chambourcin and Viognier. Until Hunters Run has a full line of wines, the tasting room will feature wines from Cave Ridge Winery, located in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley.
