Veritas Vineyard and Winery
Tucked away in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Veritas Winery is a family-owned boutique winery that is part of the Monticello Wine Trail. The idyllic setting offers 360 degrees of protected mountain views to enjoy as you sip the Veritas’ increasingly well-known and respected wine.
Though Veritas opened in just 2002, its incredible performance at competitions has earned the winery much deserved attention within Virginia and on a national basis. The elegant yet complex wines are food-friendly and enjoyable for the casual wine drinker and the wine connoisseur alike.
Veritas crafts many award-winning varietals including Scintilla, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Viognier, White Star, Kenmar, Rosé, Red Star, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Othello. Each of the high quality, unique wines is derived from vitis vinifera, with one notable exception (a French hybrid).
Veritas pairs the tried-and-true traditional principles of viticulture and vinification with innovative new technology in order to make the best wine possible out of the flavorful grapes produced by the Monticello region’s unique terroir. The grapes, grown with a high quality, low yield philosophy, are carefully monitored and selected so that only the best fruit is made into wine.
Wine is more than just a business at Veritas, it is a passion, and the staff is eager to share with visitors how the grapes grow, how the wine is made, and how incredible local, sustainably produced wine can taste.
The rustic charm of the tasting room makes it an inviting place to visit no matter the weather outside, though it’s hard to find a better place to enjoy the Virginia sunshine than on Veritas’ deck, overlooking acres of vines and the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains beyond.
