Reynard Florence Vineyard
Though Reynard Florence Vineyard is one of the newest family-run boutique wineries to open in Virginia, it has quickly gained recognition as one of the best. The warm, cozy winery and tasting room make visitors feel at home as they sip handcrafted, small-batch, award-winning wines with family and friends.
Reynard Florence is dedicated to quality, and aims to produce wines to delight each and every palette. Located in Barboursville, Virginia, the vineyard is tucked into the mountains, hidden away just enough to offer total serenity and relaxation to those relaxing on the shady patio enjoying the spectacular mountain views.
Reynard Florence Vineyard is perfectly located near three of Virginia’s other incredible vineyards to make a day of wine tastings infinitely convenient.
Barboursville Vineyards, Burnley Vineyards, and Horton Vineyards are all within a three-mile radius of Reynard Florence. Also nearby are Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello and James Madison’s Montpelier, making Reynard Florence the perfect stop for history buffs on a day of exploration.
The vineyard is committed to the belief that great wine starts in the vineyard. Because of this, owners Roe and Dee Allison take great care to optimize the growing conditions of the grapes so that they are as intense and flavorful as possible.
Reynard Florence always begins with the best fruit possible so that the wines are able to showcase the qualities that make Virginia the best place to make wine in the country. The vineyard’s rich, delicious wines provide a taste of Virginia in each and every sip.
Reynard Florence grows Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Grenache, and its feature grape, Petit Manseng. Petit Manseng was originally grown in southwest France in the foothills of the Pyrenees, so it grows well in the foothills of the Blue Ridge where a similar topography and climate make the grapes as flavorful as they are in France. Reynard Florence is the only vineyard in the state to grow the difficult but well worth the trouble Grenache grapes.
