Burnley Vineyards
Located in Barboursville, Virginia, Burnley Vineyards is one of the oldest vineyards in the Monticello Viticultural Area. The vineyard has been family-owned and operated since planting began in 1977.
Today, the vineyard cultivates 32 acres of grapes and makes thirteen different wines including Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Orange Muscat, Muscat Blanc, Chambourcin, Vidal, and Norton.
When Burnley began harvesting its grapes in 1980, it didn’t yet have a winery. Burnley focused on producing high quality grapes for other central Virginia winery, aiming to grow grapes that would reflect the perfect soil, climate, and setting in which they were grown.
In 1984, Burney opened its own farm winery and began producing finely crafted wine recognized within Virginia and increasingly on a national basis.
Burnley Vineyards includes a tasting room, a banquet room, and deck overlooking the vineyard and the surrounding mountains. For those wishing to enjoy more than just an afternoon getaway to the serene winery, a private guesthouse is available by the night.
The house overlooks the vineyard, is available year-round, and sleeps up to four. Whether you want a private, romantic weekend away to relax or just to enjoy a glass of carefully crafted wine while gazing out at the beautiful countryside, Burney is the place to visit.
