White Hall Vineyards
White Hall Vineyards is yet another example of a superb farm winery in the Charlottesville area. In an area known for its wine connoisseurs, it’s difficult to cultivate such an overwhelmingly positive reputation as is enjoyed by White Hall.
With incredible views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, a beautiful tasting room, and a top-of-the-line production area, even someone familiar with vineyards would be awestruck by a visit to White Hall.
Just five years after the Estate Vineyards were established in 1992, White Hall had already built a reputation for itself in Virginia.
The winery won the Virginia wine industry’s most impressive competition, the Governor’s Cup, in 1997 and again in 1998. Today White Hall is continually recognized within the state and on a national basis.
The wine boasts a richer taste than is typical of most Virginia wine, influenced by the California wine industry of the 1960’s. Today, White Hall boasts 45 acres comprised of Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Muscat, Touriga Nacional, Viognier, Petit Verdot, and Petit Manseng.
White Hall could not be in a more ideal location: the 800 foot elevation allows for constant refreshing mountain breezes, and Albemarle Country provides both incredible scenery and an incredibly supportive wine community.
