When work ends and stores close, Richmond nightlife is just beginning to heat up. For those looking for a drink and good conversation, the city has a variety of bars, from martini to sports. Those looking for live music can find it at one of many local restaurants or music venues. After a long day at work, Richmond has whatever you need to decompress.

Alley Katz’s comfortable atmosphere makes it the perfect place to relax and listen live local, regional, and national acts. While you mingle, the full service kitchen continues to serve its famous pizza into the night. For a different experience, McCormack’s Irish Pub is Richmond’s resident “punk rock Irish pub.” Patrons enjoy the range of music and well-stocked bar while eating local favorites such as the “Monster Burger.”

Sine Irish Pub and Restaurant, a building built originally built in Ireland and transported across the Atlantic, boasts a comfortable atmosphere for family and friends to gather. Food is served with a Celtic flair while patrons enjoy free, live entertainment on the weekends.

Local Legend Brewing Company, Virginia’s oldest and largest microbrewery, serves up a large selection of beers brewed in-house. Capital Ale House offers hundreds of beers at each of its three Richmond locations. Live music is available at the restored Byrd Theatre, which works to integrate cultural, educational and community aspects into the event schedule. The Hat Factory is a smaller venue which hosts local, regional, and national acts; it’s widely recognized for weekly circus-themed party, RVAlution.

The menu boasts 85 different martinis, 40 tapas items, and a second menu of gourmet entrees. DeLux takes traditional diner food to the next level in a happening bar scene.

Eclectic Japanese-American restaurant Sticky Rice serves up dozens of inventive varieties of sushi rolls. Patrons tend not to miss after-hours karaoke parties at the hip bar.
